Summer at Donner Lake

I love Summer.
The weather was hot.
The water was not.
I love summer.
(Can anybody tell me what kind of poem I just wrote?)
Haven't figured out how to make these pictures rotate yet. Stay tuned!

Back in time!

The gals dressed up in their vintage 50's clothes (actually made by our neighbor when she was young and hoppin')and went to the old theater in downtown Woodland (the parents wore 2007 attire). It was super keen! I think these two really did come out of the 50's!

This pioneer lady made it to the Salt Lake Valley with little energy to spare. She pushed and pulled! She moved along with a smile on her face, turning around after taking the wrong trail, pulling the handcart alone with the other women when the men left with the Mormon Battalion, and never giving up! She even sewed her own dress! She is amazing!

What will Julia do when Rachel leaves for College? I've been asking that question for a few months now. Hmmm. Should be interesting. Maybe she will be more independant, branching out, take wing and fly. Yeah, it will be a good change! Happy thoughts!

We grew one sunflower last year. Actually it grew itself. What pleasure it brought. It said hello friend to all who walked past.
OK, that last comment was a bit overboard. See how I slowly sucked you in with the cutie picture, then little sappy comments...Julia is pretty cute though! She says hello friend to all who walk past.

FISH ANYONE?

Wow! Life is good when you can be in the company of somebody who loves to cook! Have you ever met a 16 year old with a habit of preparing a nice selection of fish into an awesome fish taco for breakfast! This teen cannot be satisfied with Corn Flakes. I bet you were wondering about that certain glow upon the facial skin. Yes it's the Fish!

KISS A FOOT TODAY!

FEET: I used to think feet were grotesque (most feet still are). But when you have a family you think their feet are pretty cool. You even kiss them on occasion, especially when they are baby's feet. Now here is a pair of lovely feet belonging to one of our family members. As you can see, the right foot has been through some hardship. Not only has it brought it's owner to a very low state of humility because of it's unsightliness, but there has been much pain (and anger) associated with this particular foot. Nonetheless, this foot has been kissed and loved over these 18 years on earth. Now friendly blog readers, as of Friday, May 25th, this particular foot has been transformed, infussed and realigned. Please stay tuned for further foot features on this blog. You will not be dissappointed. You may even feel an overwhelming neet to head over to our place for a kiss of your own!

Here is a "concrete girl". She square but exciting. She keeps the rules and ain't nobody's fool. She'll take you down if you're misbehaving. So watch out BYU-Idaho.

Blog: Big Boy Bothers Brother

If a boy is determined to drive other members of the family crazy he will--no matter the consequences. I've concluded that this is a genuine need of the 11 year old boy. No awards, privileges, punishments can curtail this annoying behavior. But hear this--I have stumbled onto something. I was retelling a friends about one of our eleven year old boy's more sinister pranks employed at the expense of his younger brother. The culprit overheard the conversation. Boy was he upset at me. Here's an option to solve this difficulty. Make a blog and showcase all his little antics to the world. Use a hidden camera for an added touch. Tell him you are going to document every wrong move. You can name your blog "Eleven Year Old at Large". ~Caryn

da Vinci!

Today we took the Leonardo da Vinci Experience tour in Sacramento. He was a true Renaissance man. He was an painter, drawer, engineer, inventor...

I like to think of myself as a true Renaissance women. I draw (the line here!), paint (the bathroom walls), engineer (a minivan), invent (a new look on leftovers)... Man I feel good about myself!
