A Great Joy!

I am most happy reading. Today I scanned the Wall Street Journal, read Jacob 5-6 (Book of Mormon), looked over the online headlines, a few stories in the Reader's Digest, the end of the book "A Man Named Dave" by Pelzer and the beginning of a Cushman (one of my all time favorite teen novelist) called "The Loud Silence of Francine Green". This does not include all the reading I did shopping at Winco, online school planning, and checking my email. I am so blessed to know how to do read!!! What a gift. I want to thank the California public school system for this wonderful skill! Some may think I did not get anything else done. But I actually spent most of my day working outdoors. Someone asked me once how I have time to read so much. My answer, "I don't enjoy watching T.V." If you read this blog, maybe you could leave a list of your reading habits for the day. I would love to hear the details. ~Happy Reading

Oh goodness, I do a lot of reading (sometimes too much I think =}). I have been enjoying the Pellinor books of late. Fun fantasy series!

Reading is a joy. I just finished John Adams. Wow. I love Dickens. Hard Times is a good start with him. I am reading Plato's republic right now and wish I was as wise as he and Socrates. But then again I'm a women of action not of philosophy--when I'm not reading.

Today's reading included/includes: 1 Nephi 17-19, a few children's books to Syd, my favorite recipe book for something fun to eat on a Friday night and I want to start A Gift from the Sea from Anne Morrow Lindbergh. I don't enjoy TV either and it's never on because we don't have cable so during Syd's naptime, I have 3 whole hours to read, I love it!

Well, since it's the Olympics I haven't been reading as much this week but I usually read a lot. At work I read the newspaper, blogs, and any random new pamphlets we have there. I'm also reading "Gone With The Wind". It's amazing ;)

I'd like to read more than I do...one day, right? I tend to sneak in the scriptures, a few books to the kiddoes, and whatever we are reading for book club.

Do you go to the Winco in Vacaville? If you do, you should let me know when you are there, it would be fun to shop and "run into you"!
